Stunning Kanagana Ranaut , Sit Back, Relax, and Enjoy the Joyride that Kangana a.k.a. Queen takes us through. However, the ride wouldn’t be same without the supporting characters; all of them detailed really well. The ride wouldn’t also be same without the Rocking music of Amit Trivedi. And How can I not mention Vikas Bahl here? Quality Direction;Quality Screenplay. Too many names; too little space. With Big names such as Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane involved in Editing and Production as well; the product had to be Top Notch.
Adolescence is one of those rare subjects on which we haven’t witnessed many movies made in Bollywood. Therefore UDAAN comes as a pleasant surprise from a debutant director Vikramaditya Motwane, who boldly makes his first movie on an important subject and delivers a fine polished product proving his unique thought process with a style. It’s a simple movie that you will relate to a lot and remember for a long time
8. Paan Singh Tomar
A movie based on a true story and dedicated to the athletes who have dedicated their life to the country and does not get the respect they deserve and are ill-treated.
A very well made movie, with some good emotions and heart touching lines. The language (Hindi) is more authentic so makes it difficult to understand but that is the best part of the movie, the intensity Paan Singh Tomar (Ifran Khan) displays in the movie is a class of an act, no one could have done it better.
Pink –Pink is a tour de force. It’s a simmering mixture of morality, drama, mystery and debate whose intensity never slips. Pink has no light moments. And it is utterly brilliant. Big B , Piyush Mishra , tapsi were standouts .
A powerful script that build up a bit slowly in the 1st half but once it starts , keeps you intrigued right till the end and has elements in store even in the very last scene. Few scenes are very neatly crafted and few scenes are actually not shown and left for audience to self understand – how rare is that in B’wood. Although I am tempted to reveal the story, i ll let the viewers see this one and enjoy the thrill drama.
5. The Lunchbox
To be able to write an involving story on something considered impossible is the hallmark of a good writer. Lunchbox is based on such a story surrounding the dabbawalas of Mumbai. Irrfan proves with every new film that he in fact is the best ‘Khan’ of Bollywood and Nawazuddin can just not disappoint .
4. Raman Raghav
Jam packed with Powerful dialogues, excellent background score and mind blowing acting and direction. I am a big fan of Anurag Kashyap movies and he didn’t disappoint with this one. It was as dark as Requiem for a Dream if not more. The whole movie has been crafted so beautifully. Screenplay, direction,Script everything are in sync. Music is also very good. Nawaz took acting to a new level ,hats off to this guy .
This movie is totally filled with realistic characters whom we witness in small towns and consists of various shades of emotions, daily struggles and challenges that lower middle class groups encounter. It beautifully depicts the lives of people in the backdrop of the ghats of Varanasi with some memorable performances .Must watch for ‘Good Cinema’ lovers .
Imtiaz Ali creates magic on screen with Ranbir and Deepika giving performances to remember. Ar Rehman music , cinematography and the aesthetics in the movie are unforgettable , personal favourite in this list .Not a Romeo Juliet movie like love, separating and then happy ending. It is different from routine love stories. A powerful message of an ordinary human with a powerful expression of unorthodox. Coming to cinematography beautiful scenic locations with awesome camera work. Those who can relate to this movie won’t stop thinking about this one for a week.
This is the Best of Sriram Raghvan. The film grabs your attention from the very beginning and the biggest plus point of the movie is that it proves you wrong every time you predict next twist in the story. Also there is a dose of dark humor throughout the whole movie. Music by Amit trivedi blends very well with the mood of the film ,the plot of the movie seems to be normal but as the movie progresses, you will come to know that this cinema is more than just a usual thriller…a perfect screenplay and story-telling, Masterpiece.
