Technology, science is taking us towards a future we never expected and that’s why the tech has become the most significant thing in one’s life. Today, we’re gonna talk about some of top MNC’s and Tech Giants that Indians are ruling on.
India, a country from South Asia was considered to be one of the nations among the underdogs, but when these gentlemen just got out of the boxes and showed their real power and talent everyone was appreciating not just India but also these Valuable personalities and their wonderful tactics to make these giants more powerful as ever.!!
• Francisco D’Souza (Cognizant)
Francisco was born in Nairobi, Kenya on 23 August 1968. He’s basically a Kenyan-Indian American based entrepreneur. He succeeded Lakshmi Narayan as Cognizant’s CEO in the year 2007.
Among the youngest CEOs in the software services sector, D’Souza is Cognizant’s CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors. D’Souza joined Cognizant as a co-founder in 1994 and went on to become its CEO in the year 2007. During his tenure as CEO, Cognizant’s employee base has grown from 55,000 to over 230,000.
The son of an Indian diplomat. He holds a BBA from University of East Asia, Macau and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh; D’Souza also serves on the board of General Electric as an independent director
• Vinod Khosla (Sun MicroSystems)
Vinod Khosla is one of the most renowned Indians, he’s an Indian American Billionaire engineer and Businessman. He’s the co-founder of Sun Microsystems and founder of Khosla Ventures. Khosla’s father was an officer in the Indian Army and was posted at New Delhi, India. He attended Mount St Mary’s School. Khosla read about the founding of Intel in Electronic Engineering Times as a teenager, and this inspired him to pursue technology as a career. He did a B.Tech in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, a master’s in biomedical engineering from Carnegie Ajaucompleting his MBA at Stanford, Khosla worked for electronic design automation company Daisy Systems.
In 1982, Khosla co-founded Sun Microsystems (SUN is the acronym for the Stanford University Network), along with Stanford classmates Scott McNealy, and UC Berkeley computer science graduate student Bill Joy. Khosla served as the first chairman and CEO, from 1982 to 1984, when he left the company to become a Venture Capitalist.
• Ajay Singh Banga (MasterCard)
Ajay Singh Banga is the Chief Executive Officer of American Multinational Company MasterCard. MasterCard announced on April 12, 2010, that Banga, previously MasterCard’s president and chief operating officer, had been named by the Board of Directors to serve as the company’s president and chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2010. The company also announced that Banga would become a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Banga, 50, succeeded Robert W. Selander, who had been MasterCard’s CEO since March 1997. In February 2015, President Barack Obama appointed Banga to serve as a Member of the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. Presently, he is also the chairman of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) representing more than three hundred of the largest international companies investing in India. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Dow Chemical Company; member of the Council on Foreign Relations; and member of International Business Council of the World Economic Forum.
The Government of India awarded him the civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 2016. Banga’s extreme Supremacy is the result of his Hard work and Dedication towards work.
• Indra Nooyi (Pepsi CO.)
Indra Nooyi was born in Madras, Tamil Nadu State, India. She is the current chairperson and CEO of PepsiCo. She pursued bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Madras Christian College. She holds the MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Before joining the PepsiCo Nooyi held the product manager positions at Johnson & Johnson and textile firm Mettur Beardsell, later held strategy positions at Motorola and Asea Brown Boveri. Before becoming the CEO of PepsiCo she worked as a chief financial officer and President in the PepsiCo. After 7 years she became the CEO. She has consistently ranked among the world’s 100 most powerful women. In 2014, she was ranked at number 13 on the Forbes list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women, on the Fortune list in 2015.
In February 2018, the International Cricket Council announced that Nooyi would join the ICC Board as its first independent female director in June. She has also served as the Director of Amazon Inc.
• Shantanu Narayen (Adobe Inc.)
Shantanu Narayen who hails from Hyderabad, Telangana India. Now he is CEO of one of the world’s leading software, Adobe companies. Narayen holds an electronics engineering degree from Osmania University. He studied MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He did Masters in computer science from Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Nine years after joining Adobe, Narayen was appointed as CEO in 2007.
In 2019, He was honored with Civilian Award Padma Shri. He started his career at Apple. Narayen joined Adobe in 1998 as a senior vice-president of worldwide product research was later promoted to executive vice president of worldwide products, and appointed to his current post in November 2007 at the age of 45.
It is said that Shantanu was a Born Prodigy as during his school days also he used to be quite intelligent and hardworking paying attention towards his goals and having a dream to do something different.
• Satya Nadella (Microsoft)
Satya Nadella, who hails from the Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Now is the current chief executive officer of Microsoft. He was appointed as CEO on 4 February 2014. After Joining Microsoft in 1992, he quickly became known within the company as a leader who could span a breadth of technologies and businesses to transform some of Microsoft’s biggest product offerings, according to Microsoft.
Nadella holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering in electronics and communication from Manipal Institute of Technology. Nadella did his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and an MBA from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business. Nadella was a member of the technology staff at Sun Microsystems before he joined Microsoft.
It is believed that after Steve Ballmer ruined Microsoft it was Nadella upon who Bill Gates laid the emphasis on and he was the one who gradually brought Microsoft Inc. to it’s Original Status. The decision to Release Nokia which company bought in 2012 under Balmer’s supremacy was also Nadella’s opinion which eventually resulted in a far good amount for the Tech Giant.
• Sunder Pichai (Google Inc.)
Pichai Sundarajan known as Sunder Pichai is probably the most famous Indian on the Planet. Not just because he’s the Chief Executive Officer of Googe Inc. but also due to his highly admiring and loving nature. Sundar Pichai, who hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, now is the CEO of Google. The soft-spoken 43-year-old Pichai is heading core tech projects like Google search engine, ads, maps, apps, YouTube and Android system. He did his B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and then won a scholarship to study on materials science and on semiconductors in physics from Stanford University from where he eventually earned his M.S.
He went on to complete his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After the completion of the MBA, he was appointed as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. After joining Google in 2004, Pichai led the product management and innovation efforts for key products including Google Chrome and Chrome OS and Google Drive. Before becoming CEO, he was Senior Vice President of Chrome and apps. Pichai was eventually named as the highest earning CEO in the World with Salary of about 335 Crores INR in a year.
• Rajeev Suri (Nokia)
Rajeev Suri is the Chief Executive Officer of Nokia Inc. is an Indian-Singaporean business executive and the CEO of Nokia. Before the current assignment in May 2016, he was the CEO of Nokia Solutions and Networks from 2015 and held various positions in Nokia since 1995. Suri became the CEO of Nokia when the sale of Nokia’s phone division to was completed, replacing Stephen Elop. He is an alumnus of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He was born in New Delhi, India on 10 October 1967.
On 23 November 2011, Suri announced that the company planned to eliminate 17,000 jobs by the end of 2013 to enable NSN to refocus on mobile broadband equipment, the fastest-growing segment of the market. The reductions would slash the company’s workforce by 23 percent from 74,000. The cuts followed NSN’s $1.2 billion purchase of Motorola’s mobile network equipment business in July 2010, which added staff; and would help the company trim annual operating expenses by $1.35 billion by the end of 2013.
On 29 April 2014, Suri was appointed as the CEO of Nokia. This was after Nokia had bought back full control of NSN and sold Nokia’s phone division to Microsoft Mobile. Suri is the second non-Finnish CEO of Nokia after Stephen Elop. Suri is one of those rare top corporate executives who has achieved heights without pursuing any MBA/PG degree.
